The much awaited Eastwind Music Festival 2009 will be held on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of October at the Great India Place Theme Park in Noida. This three-day long festival will have over 60 bands, 4 stages and one dance pit as well. Tickets for the event will go on sale starting September 1st.

Another highlight of this year’s Eastwind is that it will be an eco-friendly festival and support the movement to fight Climate Change with the help of its environment partners. The festival will use eco-friendly material for all publicity and branding purposes at the venue, which will be a no-plastic zone with onsite recycling programmes.

As of now, the few confirmed artists for the festival are:

– Bhoomi
– Cassini
– Faridkot
– Five Little Indians
– Lounge Piranha
– Menwhopause
– Sajid Akbar
– The HOBOS
– The Supersonics

Not much of metal as yet, unfortunately. But slots are still open! Bands that want to participate can register online on their website www.eastwindmusicfestival.com. Final shortlisted artists will however, be decided by the organizers.

Other aspects, like travel and accommodation, have already been looked into by the organizers, who’re making sure they don’t make the mistake of bad management like the previous year. Options have been listed out on the official website, so if you have to make your arrangements for the trip, you’ve got help!

More updates coming soon on Headbangers India.
