Good news! Indian bands are being handed fame on a platter, voluntarily! Our very own All India Radio has recently sent out an announcement stating that they will now be working towards highlighting the potential of local talent. This stems from the success of their show, ‘Indian Bands Special’ hosted by RJ Devarshi Rawat.
And how are they working towards this? A.I.R hopes to promote talent by organizing rock concerts and events across India on a national level, and on a large scale basis. And, here’s the best part- They are looking for bands who want to be part of this initiative. To quote, “It does not matter how big or small/ experienced you are. We are looking for the passion in you.” The bands may also get a chance to perform on-air!

Apollonian Quest is on the lookout for a metal (obviously) vocalist (it is understood here that he/she needs to be a ‘growler’) with influences which include progressive and technical death metal. To quote, they are looking to fill the void as soon as possible, so do spread the word.

Finally, we can listen to original Indian metal on the radio! India’s first online radio station for international music- www.myopusradio.com, has launched a channel for the music of independent artists from the country. Though it is not exclusively for metal, the channel still plays a good deal of it. Considering the number of good bands the country churns out, this is no surprise!
