Indian metalheads have just returned from their Mecca. ‘Rock in India’ 2009 happened in Bangalore on the 15th of February at the Palace Grounds. This year was more of a ‘rock’ festival than the previous year, and had an equally good line up of performances. How good the bands were is another issue. However, it was a day of celebration of the heavy metal lifestyle and we loved it. 346

The Grammy Awards and heavy metal

The 51st Grammy Awards were held on Sunday, February 8th, at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Among the awards that really concern us, Metallica was honoured with a Grammy for ‘Best Metal Performance’ for the track ‘My Apocalypse’ from their latest release, ‘Death Magnetic’. Trivium announces new drummer

Florida based metal band Trivium have just announced Nick Augusto as their new permanent drummer. Augusto was introduced to Trivium fans when he filled in in the band’s “Into the Mouth of Hell We Tour” trek. He is now stepping in to permanently replace the departing Travis Smith. 250
