Albatross is a horror-obsessed heavy metal band from Mumbai, formed in 2008. It began as bassist Riju Dasgupta’s solo project, a vehicle to wed his love of literature to metal, before a settled lineup turned it into a full band.
The Dinner Is You EP (2010) and the The Kissing Flies split with American doom band Vestal Claret (2012) led to the debut full-length Fear from the Skies (2015). After the single The Neptune Murders in 2021, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2022.
