Bevar Sea – the name is pronounced ‘bevarsi’, Kannada and Telugu slang for ‘bastard’ – is a stoner/doom metal band from Bangalore, formed in late 2010. What began as a bedroom project of guitarist Srikanth Panaman and Kaustubh Thirumalai grew into a quintet that released its self-titled debut in 2012.
Mixed and mastered by Billy Anderson, Bevar Sea won the band the Best Emerging Act honour at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards India and a slot at Maryland Deathfest 2013. Invoke the Bizarre followed in 2015, and after a seven-year gap the band returned with third album The Timeless Zone in 2022.
