Brute Force is a thrash metal band from Pune, formed in December 2005. Rather than write the usual lyrics, the band chose to focus on issues relevant to Indian society, using its music as a way to get through to people, while adding its own sound to a thrash and heavy metal base.
The band won a run of competitions in its early years, including Campus Rock Idols Pune (2005), Kayos Battle of the Bands, the NIFT Rock Competition, Battle of the Bands Pune (2006), Independence Rock XXI, Strawberry Fields Bangalore (2006) and IIT Livewire Mumbai (2006). Its album Force Fed arrived in late 2008 with eight thrash songs, and was reviewed by Headbangers India that December. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2010; the band’s current status is unverified.
