Corrode is a melodic death metal band from Bangalore, formed in the fall of 2007 by Vinay ‘Goldy’ Ganesh and Sidharth Manoharan, who had previously rehearsed together as Atharva. Sidharth’s black metal influences and Goldy’s melodic metal influences merged to form the band’s sound.
The band played college fests and local gigs through a shifting lineup, and took a temporary break in May 2009 when Goldy suffered a severe neck injury on stage. Sidharth departed that December, but in April 2010 the band was revived with Nikil Kumar on bass and Aditya Rajan on vocals, going on to play shows including Impending Doom and Signs of Chaos in 2011 while working toward a debut album. The album never surfaced; the singles ‘The Others’ (2009) and ‘A Place Called Death’ (2017) are on the band’s Bandcamp. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2017; the band’s current status is unverified.
