Demonic Resurrection is a progressive death and black metal band from Mumbai, formed in early 2000 and fronted throughout by Demonstealer. The band released its debut album Demonstealer independently within nine months of forming, at a time when no Indian metal band had put out a CD on its own. A Darkness Descends (2005) and the Beyond the Darkness EP (2007) followed on the band’s own Demonstealer Records, before The Return to Darkness (2010) carried the band to international stages. A deal with UK label Candlelight Records and an appearance at Bloodstock Open Air came in 2012, followed by The Demon King (2014), the Hindu mythology-inspired Dashavatar (2017) and Live at Bloodstock (2019). After the Decades of Darkness EP (2022), the band returned in 2026 with the Apocalyptic Dawn EP.
