Heretic is a metal band formed in Kochi in 2005 by guitarists Abhijit Namboodiripad and Hareesh Kumar. Starting out as a thrash metal outfit, the band reached the finals of Independence Rock XXIII in 2008, released the Repriced EP that year, and gradually shifted toward an alternative and progressive sound.
The debut album Words to Epilogues, six years in the making, arrived in December 2012 with a music video for ‘Thoughts’, and the band opened for Anathema at IIT Madras’s Saarang festival in January 2013. The most recent activity found in checked sources dates to 2013, so the band’s current status is unconfirmed.
