Kryptos is a Bengaluru thrash and heavy metal band formed in late 1998, channelling 80s thrash and classic heavy metal influences into a sound of its own. Its debut album Spiral Ascent (2004), featuring cover art by Dark Tranquillity’s Niklas Sundin, spread through the underground circuit in India and Europe.
In 2012 Kryptos signed with German label AFM Records, and in 2013 it marked 15 years with a European tour that included Wacken Open Air. The band has since toured Europe repeatedly, sharing stages with Death Angel among others. Its seventh album, Decimator, was released through AFM in 2024.
