Millennium is a Bengaluru heavy metal band formed in 1988. Starting out with Iron Maiden covers at the Spirit of Iron Maiden concert, the band went on to release the single ‘Peace Just In Heaven’ (1992), whose promotional video won the ‘Skull Krusher of the week’ award on MTV India’s HeadBanger’s Ball. The limited-edition Born to Reign EP (1993) sold out within a week of release.
Millennium opened for Deep Purple and No Doubt, and released two full-length albums: the self-titled Millennium (1995, on the Crescendo label) and 1 Concept 2 Live (1997, independently released). After a long hiatus, the band returned to the stage in March 2008, opening for Megadeth in Bengaluru. The latest verified activity dates to the 2008 Megadeth show; the band’s current status is unverified.
