Former members
Sceptre is a Mumbai thrash metal band formed in December 1998, drawing on Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura and Lamb of God. Founders Teemeer Chimulkar, Aniket Waghmode and Janus Sayal played their first gig at IIT Bombay weeks after getting together, and the band became a fixture of the city’s metal circuit, including Independence Rock.
After a self-titled EP in 1999, debut album Now or Never arrived in 2008. Frontman Teemeer departed in 2010 after eleven years, and the re-formed lineup recorded Age of Calamity (2013), an album centred on the theme of violence against women. The EP One Shot One Kill marked two decades of the band in 2019. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2019; the band’s current status is unverified.
