Third Sovereign formed in Aizawl in 2003 and went on to become one of Mizoram’s longest-running death metal bands. After an early track on the ‘Resurrection’ compilation, the band released the Horrified Visions EP in 2006 and recorded their debut full-length Destined to Suffer at their home studio in 2007, released through Demonstealer Records.
The long-awaited second album Perversion Swallowing Sanity arrived in January 2016 through Transcending Obscurity, backed by the nine-city Blood and Roots tour in December 2015, which paired them with Shillong death metal band Plague Throat. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2017; the band’s current status is unverified.
