Warhorse Chained formed in Kochi in early 2004, among the earliest extreme metal bands in the city. Founded by vocalist Fredrich ‘Black’ Vivek and drummer Arun, the band weathered several line-up changes and a short hiatus before settling into a heavier original sound that earned them a cult following across Kerala’s underground gigs.

Widely shortened to WHC, the band played shows including Undergrind 2011 and was working toward a debut album around that time. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2011; the band’s current status is unverified.
