Workshop was Mumbai’s self-styled funny band, founded by Sahil ‘Demonstealer’ Makhija, mixing metal with garba, bhangra and pop and wrapping it in costumes and comedy. The band released their debut album Khooni Murga in 2009 and built a following through shows and online video blogs.
Workshop announced a split in June 2011 after bassist Riju Dasgupta’s departure, but returned the following year and released their second album Made Love to the Dragon in January 2013, supported by the ‘Gajanand Dhige’ music video. The latest activity found in checked sources dates to 2013; the band’s current status is unverified.
