Yes, the path breaking bass-great Victor Wooten is coming to Bangalore and Chennai. Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music and Nathaniel School of Music in associationwith Cathedral Institute of Further Education are bringing down this 5-time Grammy award winning legendary bass player to the country.
Victor is widely regarded as one of the most influential bassists since Jaco Pastorius, and known well for his solo recordings and tours. He plays for Chick Corea, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, SMV with Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller and is a guest artist with Dave Matthews Band.
Whether his medium is music or the written word, Wooten sees the creative process in the context of the eternal question about whether a tree falling in a forest really makes a sound if there’s no one there to hear it. “A song is just an idea until someone brings it into the world,” he says. “That’s the great mystery of music or any creative endeavor. The power is in the palm of your hand. You just have to release it to the world.”
The Workshop:
The Workshop is FOR ALL- music lovers, non-musicians, musicians, kids. Victor is an eloquent speaker and an inspiration to anyone. He frequently conducts workshops at Berklee for 1500 people!!!
