Nile to play in India this May

So, it’s finally official. Sumeet Suvarna, from MetamorphiK Productions has just announced that American Death Metal giants Nile has been confirmed for a 2 city tour of India. He quotes- “This is Nile’s first tour of India and we hope to see a great response from the metal heads all over the country.” Tour dates: May 5, 2012: Live at Summer Blaze Metal Festival, Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Event conceptualized, produced and managed by OFFICIAL Dream Rigs Inc. May 6, 2012: Nile Live in Bangalore, Ezone Club, Marthahalli, Bangalore. The band also issued a statement on their official Facebook page re-confirming the tour. “World Management would like to announce that the mighty Nile are heading to ASIA.. The Mighty Riff returns

After a successful gig last July, The Mighty Riff is back with their first of many gigs this year. Riff52 is Mumbai based heavy metal band Albatross’ much awaited album The Kissing Flies launch in Bangalore. Supporting them will Bangalore doom favorites Bevar Sea, death metallers Dhwesha and sludge masters Shepherd. The gig takes place on the 31st of March, 2012 at B52 in Bangalore. Demonic Resurrection announced as part of line-up for Bloodstock Open Air 2012

Indian symphonic metal band Demonic Resurrection were today announced as part of the Sophie Lancaster stage for the line-up on the 12th of August at U.K.’s biggest metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air. They share the stage with black metal bands Anaal Nathrakh and Winterfylleth, both from the United Kingdom Another historic achievement for Sahil Makhija and the rest of his demonic horde! Help save Shaun Lacanne’s fiancé from certain death

Shaun Lacanne, the man behind death metal solo project Putrid Pile, is in a dire situation. His fiancé Jeanne has been diagnosed with cancer in the uterus. She is terminally ill. The only way to save her is by donating money for her treatment. Undergrind 2012

After the massive success of Undergrind Fest 2011 featuring Putrid Pile, the Bangalore based underground extreme metal fest is back, this time featuring Singaporean grinders Wormrot. Started as a show in a garage basement by a few like-minded friends who played in extreme metal bands due to the limited opportunity by the organizers of mainstream metal shows, the show was a raging success among the few sick folks who loved extreme underground music and became one of its kind in India. Undergrind aims at supporting and promoting true underground extreme metal bands, focusing on death metal, gore grind, brutal death and grindcore. Demonic Resurrection announce new bassist

Demonic Resurrection have announced their new bassist, following the departure of Husain Bandukwala from the band. The new bassist is  Ashwin Shriyan who has played for Blood Meridian/Reptilian Death. The band put up a youtube video to explain the reasons for this replacement which has been linked below. Cypher 16 return to India for Deepwoods Festival

Cypher16Rising British metal band Cypher 16 have been confirmed to headline the MCC Deep Woods Festival in Chennai on the 17th of February 2012. Frontman Jack Doolan says: “We’re delighted to be coming back to India again for what will be trip number four for us in two and a half years! We actually played the last show of the 2011 tour in Chennai and the fans there were insane, so we’re looking forward to seeing what they’ve got in store for us this time! We also heard that we are the first international act to play the Deepwoods Festival, and given that this year marks the 175th anniversary of the college, we feel very lucky to be able to be involved in what will be a very special celebration- see you guys at the front!” Cypher 16 will headline the MCC Deepwoods Festival in Chennai on February 17th.
