IIT Kharagpur’s ‘Wildfire 2011’ – Registrations open

IIT WildfireRegistrations are now open for one of the country’s biggest ever college rock competitions- IIT Kharagpur’s ‘Wildfire 2011’ which is a part of their annual cul-fest. Sringfest 2011. This is the same competition that has seen the rise of names like Parikrama, Pentagram, Albatross and Camouflage in the Indian rock scene. Demonic Resurrection release online guitar lesson video

Demonic ResurrectionIndian metallers Demonic Resurrection have released their first guitar lesson video with lead guitarist Daniel Rego. The video is a lesson on how to play the song ‘Omega,I’ and is the 1st in a 3 part series of the same. Demonic Resurrection are also planning to release more guitar lessons as well as drum lessons with drummer Viru in the coming months on their youtube channel Demonic Tube.(www.youtube.com/demonictube) “We think these videos are a great way to interact with our fans and give something back to them, we recently crossed 15,000 fans on facebook and we always get requests for guitar tabs of our songs so we thought what better way than video to show our fans how to play our songs”-  Demonstealer (Vocalist, Guitar). Inner Sanctum Headlining Strawberry Fields 2010

Bangalore metallers Inner Sanctum will be headlining ‘Strawberry Fields’ along side The Raghu Dixit Project on the 14th of Nov. Strawberry Fields, one of the premier rock competitions which has seen the rise of many big bands like Bhayanak Maut and Brute Force is scheduled to to be held on the 12th, 13th and 14th of November, at NLS and is organized by Indian Law School. Shortlisted bands for Wacken Metal Battle India announced!

Metal Battle IndiaOut of the 96-odd entries received, the 16 shortlisted bands for the Wacken Metal Battle India have finally been announced.

These four bands have been selected from each of the four zones to compete in the first round of performances at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Guwahati starting the 7th of November. Post this, 2 bands will be selected from each of the four zones and will play the National finals in Bangalore on the 12th of December, 2010. The band that wins the National Finals will represent India at the Wacken Metal Battle in Germany in August 2011.

Indus Creed to perform at Mood Indigo

Katatonia is now not the only attraction at Mood Indigo 2010. It has just been announced that Indus Creed will perform their reunion concert at Mood Indigo this time. They have recently reunited to regain their title of being the biggest IndianRock band.
Indus Creed, formerly known as Rock Machine, was the first original Indian rock band. They were the ones who put the nation on the International Rock map after playing at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festival in the UK, performing with Bon Jovi to over 40,000 people in Bombay, and jamming live with the legendary Slash in Bangalore.
