ACRID SEMBLANCE disband officially

In a letter not devoid of emotion, Delhi’s melodic death metal long-timers Acrid Semblance finally announced the end of their musical journey as a band. Vocalist/keyboardist Anubhav Misra finally broke many years of silence via Facebook.
It’s finally time to say goodbye. Over the last 4 years, I have tried to put back together a band that I once loved so much that I wouldn’t ever think of writing this. However, like all things good or bad, it’s time for this to come to an end too. Acrid Semblance has been a part of my life ever since I realized I wanted to play in a band. It started out with five friends looking to make music that would be so revolutionary that it would change how people think of metal in India.  Maybe,it did. Along the way we got to make some really amazing lifelong friendships; friendships that are going to inspire us for the rest of our lives. However, as much as a band is about the music it writes, it is also about the people who make it and the people who come together with it. And, no matter how hard we try, people grow and people change. This is that change. We must reorganize in other forms to form something else; something maybe more relevant to us and maybe relevant to people around us. Hope you still enjoy the music. Our guitar player Vikas is also only getting started on a kickass solo project. You could follow him on: https://www.facebook.com/adikarametal And here is our music out there for you toenjoy: http://bandcamp.acridsemblance.com/ Hope we will connect with some of you inways other than we already have and maybe you will come together in what we do next musically or otherwise. Until then, thank you! And good bye! Anubhav
The band had been pioneers in the melodic death metal boom that India has been witnessing and one that has grown since 2003. Their 2006 debut full-length From the Oblivion got quite a significant positive response from metal listeners around the country. Following that, the band released the Mindgames EP in 2008 and had been silent ever since. It is unfortunate that that silence was broken in this manner but we at Headbangers India wish everyone in the band all the best with their future endeavours.

Vizag heavy metal newcomers AGAINST EVIL release debut single

There is still new blood being born in the name of metal’s original sound. From Vishakhapatnam comes yet another such band in the form of Against Evil. They started out as a hard rock cover band name Echoes and have released their debut single ‘War Hero’ today which you can (and should) listen to right here. The artwork can be credited to All Things Rotten.

KRYPTOS to tour Germany with DEATH ANGEL

Kryptos Death Angel tour 2015 Bangalore’s old-school metal torchbearers Kryptos are continuing their sorties of Europe. This time around it may just be their biggest announcement yet. They have now confirmed a tour of Germany with thrash metal superstars Death Angel, from the United States. This tour comes on the back of a highly successful tour with Italian melodic black metal band Graveworm last year and another Europe tour prior to that which included performances at Wacken Open Air and In Flammer Open Air metal festivals. The tour begins on 17th July in Weisbaden and ends on the 11th of August at Essen. From the Headbangers India family, we wish the band all the best as always and congratulate them on returning to Europe again and again, stronger every time.

XANDRIA to headline BITS-Pilani Hyderabad’s Pearl

German symphonic metal band Xandria will be headlining the annual cultural festival Pearl at BITS-Pilani‘s Hyderabad campus on 14th March, having previously been headlined by acts such as Dark Tranquillity and Decapitated. The band will be managed by Orka Networks during this time, the events company that brought Gojira and Bloodshot Dawn to India, among other bands. Xandria released their 6th full-length album Sacrificium last year, to extremely positive reviews. As a stroke of absolute coincidence, their 3rd full length from 2005 was titled India. Whether that was due to having visited the country before or as a vicarious step we are not sure, but we at Headbangers India are glad that they can finally visit the namesake of that release.

Your band could be opening for CANNIBAL CORPSE and SUICIDE SILENCE…

ARCHANGEL releases new album ‘Blur’

A good, complete ambient progressive metal song is tough to pull off, let alone an album. Having said that, Archangel, a Bangalore based solo project, has released its fourth album (yes, fourth!) titled ‘Blur’ in under 3 years. The brainchild of Dr. Srikumar R, the album is quite well written and is even based on a story that Dr. Srikumar has written himself. Purely instrumental, ‘Blur’  has some sweet riffs that are comparable to Cloudkicker and sound original. The new album is out right now,  either to stream or to be purchased at whatever price you name on Bandcamp. Show your support!
