ACRID SEMBLANCE disband officially
In a letter not devoid of emotion, Delhi’s melodic death metal long-timers Acrid Semblance finally announced the end of their musical journey as a band. Vocalist/keyboardist Anubhav Misra finally broke many years of silence via Facebook.
It’s finally time to say goodbye. Over the last 4 years, I have tried to put back together a band that I once loved so much that I wouldn’t ever think of writing this. However, like all things good or bad, it’s time for this to come to an end too.
Acrid Semblance has been a part of my life ever since I realized I wanted to play in a band. It started out with five friends looking to make music that would be so revolutionary that it would change how people think of metal in India. Maybe,it did.
Along the way we got to make some really amazing lifelong friendships; friendships that are going to inspire us for the rest of our lives.
However, as much as a band is about the music it writes, it is also about the people who make it and the people who come together with it. And, no matter how hard we try, people grow and people change. This is that change. We must reorganize in other forms to form something else; something maybe more relevant to us and maybe relevant to people around us.
Hope you still enjoy the music. Our guitar player Vikas is also only getting started on a kickass solo project. You could follow him on:

And here is our music out there for you toenjoy:

Hope we will connect with some of you inways other than we already have and maybe you will come together in what we do next musically or otherwise.
Until then, thank you! And good bye!
Anubhav
The band had been pioneers in the melodic death metal boom that India has been witnessing and one that has grown since 2003. Their 2006 debut full-length From the Oblivion got quite a significant positive response from metal listeners around the country. Following that, the band released the Mindgames EP in 2008 and had been silent ever since. It is unfortunate that that silence was broken in this manner but we at Headbangers India wish everyone in the band all the best with their future endeavours.
