Indus Creed to perform at Mood Indigo

Katatonia is now not the only attraction at Mood Indigo 2010. It has just been announced that Indus Creed will perform their reunion concert at Mood Indigo this time. They have recently reunited to regain their title of being the biggest IndianRock band.

Indus Creed, formerly known as Rock Machine, was the first original Indian rock band. They were the ones who put the nation on the International Rock map after playing at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festival in the UK, performing with Bon Jovi to over 40,000 people in Bombay, and jamming live with the legendary Slash in Bangalore.

Wacken Metal Battle India- Registrations open!

WOA BattleIndia now becomes the 27th Country in the world to participate in the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle, whose international finals are scheduled for 4th to 6th August 2011. And to get your band to play at one of the world’s biggest metal festivals- Wacken Open Air, and also stand a chance to win a record deal, go ahead and register for Metal Battle India 2011!
Visit www.myopusradio.com and register your band here before the 31st of October 2010. All you have to do is fill out a form on the website with basic details about your band, along with a MySpace/ Reverbnation link.
Four bands will be selected from each of the four zones based on their profiles, and they will get a chance to play live at the zonal semi-finals on these dates, at these venues:
North Zone- Delhi- Double Decker- 7th November
West Zone- Mumbai- B69 Bajao- 21st November
South Zone- Bangalore- Zero G- 11th December
East Zone- Delhi- T.B.A
Bands that qualify at this stage will move on to the National finals and play in Bangalore on the 12th of December, 2010. Finally, the winner of Metal Battle India will head to Germany in 2011 and play on the grand stage alongside many other international metal bands!

Slayer, Testament gig cancelled

slayer‘Rock in India’ which was scheduled for October 2010, and which was meant to feature Slayer and Testament, has now been cancelled due to certain reasons we aren’t aware of as yet.
Though this would come as a major disappointment to all metalheads, there’s still a ray of hope. Great Indian Rock has confirmed that TesseracT and Enslaved will headline their festival later this year. And with rumors about a whole array of other bands coming down to India, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Devoid album artwork and tracklist unveiled

Mumbai thrash metallers ‘Devoid’ who recently signed to Demonstealer Records have revealed the cover artwork and tracklist for their debut album ‘A God’s Lie’.

The album features 9 ball busting thrash metal tracks.

Gig Review: Pantera tribute gig – A review

PanteraI never wanted to be an astronaut in the 4th grade or a cricketer in middle school. Over years the only thing that grew in certainty was that I wanted to be a theoretical elementary particle physicist. But something that I am even more certain about is what I don’t want to be, and that is a cleaner at café Morrison as of the 31st May 2010, for the carnage I’d witness would be enough to want to take up a job at the West Ham Cemetery. Blood drops on the black granite, broken glass strewn on the floor, footprints on the couches and frames that used to house photos. Even Nathan Gale would look up from the inferno he’s rightly in and with an everlasting ambivalence; wonder whether he actually robbed the world of a legendary guitarist. 1552

Testament and Slayer for Rock in India?

TestamentYeah, you read that right. Is it confirmed or not, we’re yet to know. But as of now, we’ve seen the tweet on Testament’s official Twitter page.

To quote, this is what the tweet says:
