In an update issued by Sceptre on March 18th on their MySpace page, the band announced that their frontman for eleven years, Teemeer, has quit the band. He will be replaced by Shezan on lead guitars. Sceptre is also currently auditioning vocalists and working on a new album.
The annual Kingfisher Pub Rock Fest, in association with Rock Street Journal, is now calling for entries for this year’s event. Or series of events, rather. This 2010, Pub Rock Fest will comprise of around 55 gigs in 8 cities.

Mood Indigo (IIT Mumbai) has just revealed the list of bands that will play at the Livewire eliminations in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. After the eliminations, the bands get to play at the final competition in Mumbai- at the same place where Porcupine Tree will be performing on December 21st 2009.

Headbangers India caught up with Bangalore based heavy metal band Bhoomi, who are in the process of recording their first album, with international producer Neil Kernon on board. After seven years of performing across India and headlining more than forty college festivals, the group is mid way through recording this album, tentatively titled ‘We The People’. The album will consist of nine songs, with a sound that brings together hard rock and heavy metal. There will also be an acoustic number on it! 21

Eccentric Pendulum, the newest kids in the headbangers’ block came together in late 2008. These kids (well…not really)…(actually, they aren’t ‘new’ either) got together in a sort of experimental madness to conjure up some avant-garde progressive metal. Drummer Vibhas who also plays drums for Spitfire, Ashish who plays guitars for Inner Sanctum, Nikhil extracted from his previous band Assylum and bassist/lyricist Arun who used to play for Extinct Reflections make up Eccentric Pendulum. 27
