Ryan Colaco, drummer of Kryptos, will be conducting a drummer’s workshop on the 10th of August in Bangalore. “This little workshop is all about sticking with the basics & playing it the best you can & always imagined you could someday! Nothing fancy to it as Ryan’s a drummer who pretty much plays the basics.” says the modest metalhead himself.

And Kryptos have done it again! The group’s drummer, Ryan Colaco, has just become the first Indian drummer to be endorsed by the international Vic Firth (drum sticks) label.
Indian metalheads have just returned from their Mecca.
‘Rock in India’ 2009 happened in Bangalore on the 15th of February at the Palace Grounds. This year was more of a ‘rock’ festival than the previous year, and had an equally good line up of performances. How good the bands were is another issue. However, it was a day of celebration of the heavy metal lifestyle and we loved it.
The complete list of opening bands for this year’s ‘Rock In India’ festival is not yet out, but we do know for sure that Kryptos is one among them. In a Headbangers India exclusive interview, we spoke to the band about this. Vocalist Nolan Lewis said, “It’s pretty unreal. We’ve been die hard Maiden fans since we were kids. Some of us have been fans for almost 20 years so this gig is going to be something really special for us. Hopefully everything should take place without a hitch.” Touchwood, now! 25
