Yonsample issues album update

Kolkata based Yonsample, who wowed the Indian metal following with their debut EP ‘Paraphernalia’ , have been working on their next album, set to release sometime this 2014.

The band recently posted a message to their fans via their Facebook page, which said:

“As some of you might know, we are presently working on a full length. But its been getting delayed due to several reasons and we are still in the writing mode. So we thought it would be better if we share another track with you guys while we are at it.

This song is titled ‘Sundered Vicinity’ and was recorded back in December of 2011, along with ‘Espial Abyss Afloat’. You can download the track from the following links or visit our soundcloud page to hear it. The downloadable .rar files contain a few extras, such as an instruments only version. The art for the track is an image clicked earlier this year when we were touring North-East India.

Lacuna Coil releases new single from ‘Broken Crown Halo’

Italian Goth metal band Lacuna Coil has just released a brand new single called “Nothing stands in our way” which has also been accompanied by a lyric video. The single will be a part of their seventh studio album called ‘Broken Crown Halo’ and has a release date of April 1st, 2014.

The band has worked with a new producer Jay Baumgardner (Sevendust, Papa Roach) on this album, which has been recorded in their hometown of Milan. Vocalist Andrea Ferro had said in an interview about ‘Broken Crown Halo’ that it had been influenced by the idea of the world of real life and fairy tales coming together. “We’ve fused dark and horror elements with real life situations and have created a metaphor – we are fighting for a kingdom and a crown that is not what it seems, it represents the moment of confusion we’re living in and the very fragile situations we face every day.”

Albatross: New album announcement + release of single

After 2 successful split releases, Albatross finally announced their debut full-length album Fear From the Skies, set for release on 20th May 2014.

The Mumbai-based metallers of the old-school added to that announcement today by releasing the single ‘In the Lair of Dr. Hex’. The album will be released via Transcending Obscurity India Records, the artwork for the same having been designed by Rahul Chacko.

Theorized announce new line-up, album

Many will remember the thrash metal outfit Theorized, from Bangalore. The band has been quiet for some time since they opened for Kreator at Bangalore Open Air last year but have now resurfaced. They recently played a string of shows including Vehement Era, October Fest and Septic Progression. The band are back with a new line-up comprising of:

 

Madhav – Vocals / Guitar
Ankit – Guitar
Sankalp – Bass
Yash – Drums
The band is currently half way through wrapping up their debut full length album. This will be their next release ever since the  ‘False Hope Of Tyranny’ EP which was out in 2009.

Blood & Iron release promo for new album

Blood & Iron, the heavy/power metal band originally from Chennai, are all set to unleash the third album ‘Voices of Eternity’ on heavy metal fans all over the world. They have released a promo containing snippets from 5 of their songs off the album. The new line-up of the band is:

Vikram Bains- guitars

Praveen Kumar- drums

Ashish Shetty- guitars,bass

The album features vocalist Giles Lavery from Australian power metal band Dragonsclaw, and guest bass by Riju ‘Dr Hex’ Dasgupta from Albatross, among others. Listen to the promo right here:

Soilwork release new single from ‘The Living Infinite’

Swedish melodic death metallers Soilwork have just officially released the brand new single from their much awaited upcoming album ‘The Living Infinite’. The track is titled “Spectrum of Eternity” and you can listen to it here:

 

‘The Living Infinite’ is Soilwork’s ninth studio album, and has been slated for a March 1st release. This is also the first Soilwork album to feature new guitarist David Andersson who replaces founding member Peter Wichers, who first left the band in 2005 only to return four years later.

Produced by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Bloodbath) this album features artwork by Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (known for his work for their 2005 release ‘Stabbing the Drama’ ). One of the singles off the album called “Windswept Mercy” also features guest vocalist from English indie rockers New Model Army – Justin Sullivan.

 

The band will be getting on the road pretty soon to get their new music out to their fans across the world. Indian event organizers and gig promoters, we sure hope you are taking note of this!

Blind Image to play at Asian Metal Festival, KL

Blind Image recently announced that they will be playing at the ASIAN METAL FESTIVAL in Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia , which is happening on the 9th of June 2013. The festival will be headlined by the legendary Indonesian band – Burgerkill. It also will feature various bands across the Asian sub-continent.

Blind Image did a tour of South East Asia (Part 1) in November 2012 . This will be the second time the band will be touring this region .

Krish, spokesperson for the band says – “We are really excited to be a part of this event. The memories from our last tour are still fresh. We enjoyed every single minute the last time when we toured this place and met some of the best people ever! And fans as well! When we finished the tour in November, we were confident that we have taken a solid first step in expanding our fan base over Asia and I think this just a result of that. The fans over there are just insane and thats the kind of crowd which every band would love to play for. We are also very happy that we will be sharing the stage with Burgerkill which is one of the most established bands from Asia. It’s really awesome to see that finally there is a stage for all the Asian bands to get enough exposure and create their own market. We are also very much looking forward to check out some of the other Asian bands and we hope to meet all the fans who had come for our shows during our last tour!”

Blind Image will also have their new, still untitled album ready by June 2013, and say that their tour will feature some of their new stuff, along with their older songs too, of course.

The band will announce a few more dates as a part of this festival shortly. The boys from Blind Image also released a statement that they will be touring India and few parts of Asia (apart from this particular festival) to promote the album.

Blood & Iron release new album details

Chennai based power metal band Blood & Iron are back! This was a recent update on their official Facebook page:

“Greetings my friends!
There’s a lot to report and here it is:
Our new album – and Blood & Iron’s third will be titled: “Voices Of Eternity”

Artwork duties will be handled than none other than Ishaan Kumar – an artist, an interviewer for Headbangers India and all-around nice guy 🙂

We have finished 7 songs so far and they are:
* Ascendant
* Legion
* Ghost of a Memory
* Path Not Taken
* Burning Bridges
* Eternal Rites
* Your Own Voice

We’re trying a lot of new things on this album. Just to give you an example – “Ghost of a Memory” is structured for 3 singers, Ascendant for 2. I’ll be giving details of the guest musicians who will be featuring in this album, soon, and they are some of the finest India has to offer.

Cynic announces new album in 2011, changes half the lineup.

Prog metallers Cynic have announced an album in 2011, along with saying their goodbyes to bassist Zielhorst and guitarist Tymon Krudeiner. The reason has been cited by Sean and Paul as follows:

“The logistical challenges of maintaining a band that is half based in The Netherlands and the other half in the United States (drummer Sean Reinert and guitarist Paul Masvidal live in California), has become unworkable.”

There has been no announcement regarding the replacements, though all hopes are for a reunion with Sean Malone. The full statement by Paul and Sean can be found here.

New album from Bhayanak Maut

After all the suspense with the “spam” mails, Bhayanak Maut, the metal outfit from Mumbai, is all set to finally release their latest album. The official album release will take place on the 4th of August at the Hard Rock Café in Mumbai. Guest band Workshop will also perform at this ‘launch pad.’ (Pun, eh?)
